TV Guide Disses Taraji P. Henson

Looks like TV Guide doesn’t recognize a talented it sees it. Oscar-nominated actress, Taraji P. Henson, was left off the cover of TV Guide that features her new show Person of Interest. Taraji plays the lead character, Detective Carter, and Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson and Kevin Chapman play supporting roles. All three men, who are all white, appeared on the cover of the issue that was released today. But Taraji was no where to be found and responded on her Facebook wall:

“WOW!!!! TV Guide is NOT including me on the cover with my cast members……. I am the female lead of a 3 member cast and I’m not included on the cover!!!!! Do you see the shit I have to deal with in this business….. I cram to understand!!!!”

The show’s pilot “received the highest test ratings of any drama pilot in 15 years,” with one executive describing the ratings as “crazy broad appeal you don’t usually see” – I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Taraji was the draw.

What do you think of the snub? Is sexism/racism still alive in entertainment?

Even when you google anything about the show you wouldnt know she was the main character. Its a shame she isnt getting the credit she deserves.
