Tyra Banks is being sued for $3 million by Beverly McClendon of Georgia, who claims her 15-year-old daughter appeared on Tyra’s show without permission. Tyra’s topic that day was teen sex addicts.In her suit, McClendon claims the show contacted the teen on her cell phone after she responded to a website request seeking “sex addicts.”
The girl was then picked up from her home in a limo and flown to New York, where she was put up in a hotel, all without Mom’s knowledge.McClendon filed a missing-person report with police when she realized her daughter was gone.
McClendon says her daughter suffered damages because the 2009 show “was undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles.” Lady…you have no case.

IF it’s true and that’s a big IF she does have a case because the girl was 15 and you need a parents permission to put them on tv. Also they had the girl transported across state lines without a parents permission which is against the law. Now I don’t know about her getting 3 mill but IF it’s true she’s going to get something. My guess is if they find out this is true they are going to settle out of court and move on.

when i first read this story i thought it was outrageous. i think the mother is suing on behlaf of her embarassement. Becasue why does this 15 year old girl have the time on her hands to have up to 20 sexual partnes. Was pregnant 3times and possibly have an std. Where is Mom at when these type of things are going on?? I watched the actual clip on another website…..im just saying i smell an attempt to gain some respect abck on behlaf of her motherin skils….dont blame Tyra
This is why any show should confirm with a minor’s parent’s or guardian if it’s OK for the teen to communicate such behavior. Sometimes the media loses the battle in this area. Not that I don’t like the show, but I think it should be careful with how they address teens on the issue of sex.
Even if the mother is profit seeking, she undoubtly will win a settlement. Due to the fact that her child is a minor and you not only need a permit to show case a minor . You need the parents concent. Tyra will settle I believe because the mother could end up sueing the network. the mother can claim that her child was not of age to fully understand what she was signing and that Tyra should be held accountable for the actions of her staff … My question is where is her legal staff?
