Usher’s working overtime to get the word out about his new album. One month ahead of its scheduled release date, the R&B star took to the “Saturday Night Live” stage this weekend to preview songs from “Looking 4 Myself” and serve up a little musical comedy.
In his third appearance on the NBC sketch comedy series, Usher also appeared in a raunchy Digital Short alongside protégé Justin Bieber and “SNL” guest host Will Ferrell. The star-packed short also included bits from Justin Timberlake, Michael Bolton and Natalie Portman alongside “SNL” regulars. Usher also appeared as Mr. Galactic Fantastic in the “2012 Funkytown Debate” sketch with Ferrell. In more familiar form as the show’s musical guest he delivered the songs “Scream” and “Climax” to the “SNL” audience.
Two weeks ago Usher performed songs from his new album in the Off-Broadway production “Fuerza Bruta.” This Friday, he will help kick off the “Today” show’s “Toyota Concert Series” on NBC. Usher’s “Looking 4 Myself” arrives in stores on June 12th.
