Last night was the 2015 ESPY Awards, where we saw veterans and athletes come together to be recognized. We heard speeches from Mo’Ne Davis, Lauren Hill’s parents, and many more! However, there was one speech that did not leave a dry eye in the audience!

When football player Devon Still took the stage to accept the Jimmy V Perseverance Award on behalf of his daughter, Leah Still, he delivered a speech that sent chills through the audience!

Leah Still was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma just before she turned four and has battled it ever since! During that time her father has turned his family situation into a platform to help other people going through the fight with cancer. The award was presented by one of Leah’s favorite male role model, Lebron James! Just before Still takes to the stage, James leaves us with “I dare you not to be inspired.

Although little Leah could not attend last night’s awards, she did leave the audience with a “thank you.” It is hard not to be inspired by Leah and her story! Her father was right when he said that she is the real hero.
