Apparently Rihanna doesn’t just use her microphone for singing, she uses it for self-defense too. A video of the star using her mic to smack a concert-goer in Birmingham on Monday night has been making its way around the Internet. The video shows RihRih mid-song, singing “We Found Love,” taking a stroll on the floor of the venue to greet fans. She reaches her arm out into the crowd, but is pulled back by fans who appear to be latching on to her arm. According to E!, it seems someone in the crowd started tugging her back, at which point Rihanna is seen taking her microphone and striking it at the fan, who cannot be seen in the video. Seconds later, a bodyguard comes to accompany her back to the stage. Rihanna’s “Diamonds” tour continues in Sunderland, England and Dublin this week.
Justin Bieber may be the King of Twitter, but Rihanna is now the Queen of Youtube. According to “Billboard,” she has passed the tween heartthrob to become the site’s most-watched artist.
Rihanna has 77 videos posted on her official VEVO channel, which have now racked up a combined three-point-seven billion views. Rihanna also has outdone the Biebs when it comes to Youtube subscribers. She has accumulated eight-point-seven million subscribers on the platform, compared to Bieber’s four-point-nine million. “Billboard” notes as well that Rihanna is beating Bieber on Facebook too, with 72-million likes compared to his 54-million.
Others artists who can boast impressive Youtube view counts include South Korean rapper Psy, whose “Gangnam Style” has more than a billion views alone, Eminem and Lady Gaga.
