Grammy nominated hip hop recording artist Petey Pablo was released from federal prison this morning. Moses Barrett III, a.k.a. rapper Petey Pablo stepped out of Fort Dix, NJ prison today a free man with a comeback in sight.
Pablo, a North Carolinian rapper put the southern state on the mainstream Rap radar with his hit anthem “Raise Up,” produced by producer Timbaland. “Raise Up,” reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100; which inspired men of all colors and creed to take off their shirts and spin them like a helicopter.
“I just want to say that I’m totally glad to be back in the race and behind the wheel of a car that has been fine tuned for the greatest performance. I’m now headed to the work shop. To begin what will be noted as my best work ever with one of the greatest producers of all time. My Brother, my friend, my partner for life mega producer Timbaland, the King! See ya in a few, shirt still spinning!”
Petey Pablo’s debut album received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album in 2003. His album Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry reached gold status. While his single for the second album; “Freek-a-Leek” became an even bigger hit, becoming number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Known for his hard hitting lyrics, this southern MC achieved additional mainstream success for his feature on Ciara’s hit single “Goodies, “which also topped the Billboard Hot 100. Mr. Pablo released a track in July 2010 entitled “Go,” produced by the legendary, super producer Timbaland.
