Rihanna is the queen of collaborations this year. She’s getting a check for being the women’s creative director for Puma, and she just inked a new deal to be the contributing creative director for Stance Socks.
It’s being reported that Barbados bad girl signed a three-year deal that includes designing men’s and women’s sock collections and she will be the face of the brand’s ad campaigns. Rihanna’s full Stance collection won’t drop until this fall, but the first socks from her partnership with the company dropped today. And they only made 1,500 pairs!!! Get more details on Rihanna’s deal below. Part of the pop singers job will be to design socks and lead campaigns for the San Clemente, Calif.-based company. She will also be one of Stance’s brand ambassadors, in addition to artist Langley Fox Hemingway and former NBA All-Star Allen Iverson as the so-called “Punks and Poets.”
This first collection of socks are numbered like a limited edition from one to 1,500, and they are crew socks available in men’s and women’s sizing. They sell for $30. There are also 1,000 of the over-the-knee socks, which sells for $26. The socks are made of combed cotton, and are printed in red, white and black of newsprint typography and vintage movie art. Rihanna put a personal stamp on the product by emblazoning the phrase “Bad Gal” all over the designs, which hints to her Instagram account with 22.5 million followers. She also printed her surname Fenty in a Gothic typeface on the back of the crew socks. The singer snapped up the first in the series of crew socks.
