Nicki Minaj is finally at number one. The rapper’s debut album, “Pink Friday,” tops this week’s Billboard 200 in its eleventh week on the chart. The record — which dropped last November 22nd — sold another 45-thousand copies to top this week’s list and pass the one-million albums sold mark. Nicki Minaj celebrated the accomplishment on Twitter by telling her fans, quote, “We finally did it! PINK FRIDAY is the #1 Album in the United States of America!!! *faints* thank u sooooo much for the continued support.”
The last artist to hit number one on the Billboard 200 without debuting atop the chart was Nicki Minaj’s Young Money labelmate Lil Wayne. His last release, 2010’s “I Am Not A Human Being,” opened at number two after being released digitally. The album hit number one two weeks later when it was released in stores.
