Rick Ross recently said no to a concert to be held in Nigeria. Although media stated that he’s not performing because of being sick, he argues that his health had nothing to do with canceling the concert.
The rapper said that he was supposed to appear on the annual Calabar Music Festival which would benefit The Destiny Child Center. But he didn’t appear because of ‘unfulfilled contractual obligations.’
However, government organizers say that the rapper confirmed receipt of his entire performance few weeks prior to the event. As he now cancels the program, the government is planning to file a lawsuit against him.
Statement from the Cross River State Government also claims that Rick Ross has canceled his performance at the show after accepting full performance fee. It added, “Cross River State and its agents have retained counsel in the United States to pursue their legal and monetary remedies against the artist.”
