The trial of O.J. Simpson for the double murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman captivated the world’s attention. The verdict then shook the world as O.J. Simpson was found not guilty. Now the murder weapon may have been and at Simpson’s former home.
TMZ, broke the story that a construction worker found a knife buried along the perimeter of O.J. Simpson’s former 360 N. Rockingham Ave estate in Brentwood. The construction worker found the knife, said to be a folding buck knife, years ago when doing demolition back in 1998.
The construction worker took the knife to a LAPD official he saw on the street, who was actually off-duty and was working security for a film. That cop would take the knife and instead of turning it in had kept it until now.
In late January of this year, that same officer had retired and contacted a friend in the LAPD to get the department record number because he was planning on framing the knife in his home. That is when his friend was struck with disbelief, told the higher-ups and demanded the knife be turned in.
The knife is said to be currently tested for any hair and fingerprints. TMZ, also says one of their sources claims that the cops who have viewed the knife believe there still may be blood residue on it.
O.J. Simpson, can not be tried for murders again under double jeopardy law. However, because no one was ever convicted of the murders, the case remains open. This means if someone had helped in burying the knife, they could and likely would face criminal punishment.
FX needs to be green lighting a follow-up series as we speak.
