Drake may have “Started from the bottom,” but he’s now finding himself at the top. The rapper’s third album “Nothing Was The Same” has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. In its first week on shelves the record moved 658-thousand copies. That is HUGE considering actual record sales have been replaced with digital downloads.
With the stellar sales, “Nothing Was The Same” marks the second highest opening week for an album this year. Only Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” sold more in its first week. The numbers also mark a high point in Drake’s career, outselling the debut of his previous album by more than 20-thousand copies.
“Nothing Was The Same” isn’t just making waves on the Billboard 200 chart. His hit “Hold On, We’re Going Home” has peaked at number seven on Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart.
Congrats Drizzy!
