Ethanol is a flammable compound. It is liquid in nature at room temperature. Its boiling point is less than water. If the liquid is placed in a beaker and the mouth of the beaker keep open the ethanol evaporate. Although the rate of evaporation is less. The ignition of ethanol placed in a beaker can easily be done by putting a fire in the liquid. When we place 10mL ethanol in a 50mL beaker. There will be ethanol vapor on the upper side of the beaker or rest of the position taken by the liquid. Thus by touch of fire in the ethanol vapor the whole ethanol will ignite. The process will continue until the whole ethanol is finished.
