The Great Depression was caused by many factors many of them tracing back to the early 1920's. Historians investigate and argue which factors are important to setting off the Great Depression. The Great Depression also had far reaching effects. The economy was obviously impacted by the depression but the political system had to react causing changes. Socially as jobs were lost, people's lives changed greatly through the 1930's.
