The term 'power', is used to mean, the number arrived at, by raising a base number to the exponent. The base number and the exponent are the basic elements of the power, wherein the base number is the number that is multiplied by itself and exponent is the number of times base number is multiplied.
The base is the number that is going to be raised to the power. An exponent is the power to which a given number or type of expression is to be raised. The exponent tells you how many times to multiply the number by itself.
