Democratic and industrial D.The spread of democratic governments away from monarchies and dictatorial governments allowed greater freedom and happiness for large numbers of people. The industrial revolution supplied jobs thus creating a middle class which was in between the extreme poverty of the lower classes and the wealth of the upper classes.
