Lebanon has one of the most diverse religions in a country. Conflict between Christians, Druze, Sunni Muslims and Shiite Muslims led to the Civil War of 1975-1990. Before the war territory was segregated by religion, and Christians had a lot of influence over the government, but Muslims groups (who were divided into Shiite, Sunni and Druze) gained force through the population and refused a government that only supported Christians, this was one of the main causes of the Civil War.
