- Frenchmen are the most romantic people in the world
French people are stereotyped to be rude because there language sounds aggressive.
Ah, l’amour! The French have a reputation for being romantic and seductive. In surveys of the most romantic languages, French is often among the top results.

The first stereotype is that French people are posh. When a foreigner talks to them, they treat him like they're superior.
They are especially rude with Italians (I know that because I directly experienced it) in the southern France's regions, maybe for historical reasons; not too long ago those regions were under Italian domain.
Another typical stereotype is that they always eat baguettes. I think that's a little bit silly, but where I live is common saying to a French "Sorry, I don't speak baguette".
Lastly, they are very proud of their language, so they hate speaking foreign languages and in general - that's more a fact than a stereotype, they tend to refuse words of foreign derivation (like computer, that is pretty much "computer" or a similar word in the majority of languages, but in French is "ordinateur") and to change them drastically.
