The British government was ruling in undivided India and was aware of the fact that they cannot rule for a long time in a country like India amid rising objections and buycotting of britishers.

The partition took place in undivided india via the Indian Independence Act 1947 and resulted in the seggregation of India forming two separate province named India and Pakistan.

The partition led to drastic changes in the geographical boundaries of undivided India nad even the residents were forced to changed their nationality over night. It also resulted in many other consequences which are discussed below.

Consequences of partition

Citizens of undivided India were forced to leave their land and run away to the other part to save their lives.

People lost their life due to the misleading information that this is a partition of hindus and muslims.

Due to the partition riots emerged between different religions and their was no law and order to control that.

British government had to give up the command of India and they were also removed from the offices.

A new and the longest constitution was framed by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Soon after the independence , Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead by Nathuram Ghodse.

Therefore there were a lot of consequences of partition and it affected the lives of lakhs of people overnight.
