Must be correct and it tells me if its wrong!

Which hypothesis is most supported by astronomers?

1 The universe is currently expanding and will continue to expand.
2 Stars could burn out, causing the universe to become dark and cold.
3 Gravity could pull galaxies back together, causing a reverse of the big bang.
4 Dark energy will pull the universe together to form a massive black hole.

Respuesta :

this is a vast question  since there is so many astronomers and so many points of views in the world

its quite hard to pin point what statement gives a more supported hypothesis but ill give it my best shot!

first i will start out with 4, one is irrational because the gravitational pull would just slow down the expansion of the universe in general. . . .. .

now i will evaluate 3, this is a super super common theory actually! they think this because it might cause a reverse big bang (so this a possibility)

now 2, this is also a highly common theory! but is irrational as well

now 1, this is the highest know theory in astronomy The most supported theory about the future of the Universe is that it may continue to expand. Many scientists believe that our Universe is expansive and continually expands. In 1929, Edwin Hubble discovered that distant galaxies increased in the function of their distance. That is why he concluded that the Universe is in constant expansion. So many scientists consider that our Universe is in continual change since the very moment of its creation. So the most supported theory about the future of the Universe is that it may continue to expand.
