Instead of going to Church on Sunday’s, the speaker prefers to stay home. Instead of wearing a surplice on Sunday’s, which is a white garment sometimes worn by clergy or choir members, the speaker prefers to dress in her “Wings” (or fancy clothes) as it is stated in these lines from the poem:
