The first table, on the left of the page, lists five points on a graph that has zero slope.

No matter what the value of ' x ' is in the first column of this table, the value of ' y ' never changes.  It's always 2 .

If you draw these points on a graph, thay're all on a horizontal line.  

Anything horizontal has zero slope, just like flat ground.
