Explanation: Prior to 1994, the ethnic population of Rwanda was composed of 3 different types of ethnic groups which were the following:
Twa, Hutu and Tutsi. The oldest of these 3 ethnic groups were the Pygmy Batwa or Twa as they are also known. Then the Hutu appeared, who lived peacefully with the Twa and finally the Tutsis who were mostly exterminated by the Hutu. It was the worst of the genocides in Rwanda . This bloody event was carried out between the months of April and July 2994 and where approximately 2 million people were killed. More people from the Tutsi ethnic group were exterminated than those of the Hutu.
