Tissues are composed of the same kind of cells

Explanation:

In any living organism, cells form the basic unit of life.

Similar kind of cells groups together to form tissues and performs a similar kind of function in complex organisms.

Similar kind of tissues groups together and develops to form the organ systems in higher order animals like the vertebrates.

The tissues are derived from the embryonic layers – ectoderm, mesoderm, endoderm -  which gives rise to respective organ system in vertebrates.

The four major tissue types are epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissues.

Epithelial tissues are a group of cells which protects and cover the lining of the skin as well as the visceral organs.

Connective tissues are present in ligaments and tendons attached to bones and other areas and provide flexibility and elasticity. Cartilage, adipose tissue, and blood are all made up of connective tissue.

Muscle tissues form the muscles of the body. They are of three types – striated or skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscles

Nervous tissues are formed by grouping of nerve cells or neurons and conducts impulses
