During the Cold war, Russia who before use to be ruled in a monarchy changed into a communist country. There main goal during this time was to change other countries into communism. That is why countries Like China and Cuba supported each other by having the same form of government in common. The USA was afraid of the domino affect which mainly just means that if one country turns to communism the neighboring country will soom be communist as well. The USA had many different Presidents during this time but the most famous for this is John F.Kennedy. Also not to mention the U.S has spent billions on helping other countries with any economics countries. Since many people struggled in this time, financial aid was needed. To add on, the cold war almost resulted in defcon 2 which could possible be the end of the world. Luckily that didn't happen and then the cold war shifted to the Space war.
