  • Endocytosis can be regarded as general term that describes a process whereby there is an absorption of external material  by engulfing of the material with the cell membrane.

  • Endocytosis can as well be  subdivided into two types which are; pinocytosis and phagocytosis.

  • Active transport can be regarded as  movement of a solute from region having low electrochemical potential at one side membrane of the cell to region with higher electrochemical potential on  opposite side.

  • Exocytosis can be regarded as a  process whereby waste is been excreted as well as  other large molecules out of the cytoplasm to the cell exterior  which is opposite of endocytosis.
