Eleanor Roosevelt was the wife of the United States President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt who served from 1933 to 1945 under the Democratic party. She was known to engage in so many charitable acts. For example, during World War 1 she worked in a Red Cross canteen as a Volunteer. There, she treated wounded soldiers. This job gave her satisfaction.
She found ways to give back to society as seen in the fact that she taught at Todhunter Girls' school in Manhattan. She participated actively in politics and campaigned for the rights of racially segregated people. She was very vocal and not timid as seen in her White House Press conferences for female correspondents. From 1946 to 1951 she served as the Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights at the United Nations.
Summarily, Eleanor Roosevelt lived a life of sacrifice to humanity, hard work, generosity, and independence. Nepalese women can learn these important attributes from her.
