This question is more of a personal opinion as it depends on the practice that the individual has to perform each task. In my opinion, I believe finding the GCF given the other factor (meaning both factors) is much easier as you simply need to go through the multiplication table of each of these two factors until you find the first common multiple. Since I have more experience with times tables and know most of them by heart it becomes a lot easier than finding the remaining factor given the GCF.
