What quantity of baking soda would you need to make a half recipe?
Orange-ginger cookies
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup sugar 1/2
cup flour 1/4
cup butter
2 teaspoons fresh ginger
5 teaspoons orange peel
1 teaspoon salt
1
4
teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
Write your answer as a fraction or as a whole or mixed number.
Good rule of thumb: I usually use around 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda per 1 cup of flour in a recipe. Baking soda CAN leaven a baked good when exposed to heat.
