Khloe is thinking of a number that is 2 times the value of Carl's number. Khloe's number is also 2 more than 4 times the value of Carl's number. What is Khloe's number?

Subtracting 2 from both sides, we get

0-2 = 2c +2 -2

-2 = 2c

Dividing both sides by 2, we get

-2/2 = 2c/2

-1 =c.

Plugging c=-1 in first equation,
