Y= 2x + 2 , the y intercept is 2, the graph was provide this point for u already . E Then , I just found the slope by using the formula that I had learned from textbook , which is M= y2 - Y1 divided by X2-X1 .
the point slope formula is
y-y1=m(x-x1)
that is the equation of a line that passes throut the point (x1,y1) and has a slope of m
the slope of the line passing through the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)
given the points (-4,-6) and (2,6)
slope=(-6-6)/(-4-2)=-12/-6=12/6=2/1=2
slope is 2
a point is (2,6)
y-6=2(x-2)
solve for y to get slope intercept
y-6=2x-4
add 6
y=2x+2
another way would be this
y=mx+b
b=yinercept
we see that it crosses at y=2
y=mx+2
subsitute (2,6)
sub 2 for x and 6 for y and find m
6=2m+2
minus 2
4=2m
divide 2
2=m
y=2x+2
