Hey!
Hope this helps...

For this question I will use 12 random numbers (both sets will be the same, except for the largest number), and than increase the largest number by 36, and show you the answer to both, and than explain...
The bold number, is the number that will be increased...
The bold italic number is the number after being increased by 36...
(5 + 9 + 8 + 12 + 36 + 0.4 + 15 + 7 + 36 + 42 + 12.2 + 54) / 12 = ?
(236.6) / 12 ~ 19.717
(5 + 9 + 8 + 12 + 36 + 0.4 + 15 + 7 + 36 + 42 + 12.2 + 90) / 12 = ?
(272.6) / 12 ~ 21.717
Although when you look at the number before you divide it by 12, looks like it is really big, but in reality... its really just a tad bit bigger than number prior to it...
Changing 1 number to increase by 36, is like adding the mean of the original set of numbers by 3...
So the answer is, by changing increasing the largest number by 36 will ONLY make the mean bigger, but not by a whole lot...
