The goal of a family deployability checklist is to make sure that your family is ready for your deployment and is able to handle any crisis that may happen during your deployment. In most cases, checklists are available from your commanding officer prior to deployment. Caring for your family should be enough to prompt you to complete the items necessary to prepare your family; the fact that in some cases, commanding officers or readiness NCO's will actually look at your checklist to determine that you've completed the steps necessary to protect your family should also be another prompt.
