(3x-1)(2x+5) = 495
So, 3x times 2x is [tex] 6x^{2} [/tex]and 3x times 5 is 15x. -1 times 2x is -2x and -1 times 5 is -5. Putting that all together gives you something like this.--
[tex] 6x^{2} [/tex] + 15x - 2x - 5 = 495 (like terms = 15x-2x =13x)
[tex] 6x^{2} [/tex] + 13x - 5 = 495
Subtracting 495 on both sides....
[tex] 6x^{2} [/tex] + 13x - 5 - 495 = 495-495
[tex] 6x^{2} [/tex] + 13x - 500 = 0
