A pendulum has 295 J of potential energy at the highest point of its swing. How much kinetic energy will it have at the bottom of its swing?

The law of conservation of energy states that: "For an isolated system, the total amount of energy is conserved."

For the given system:
Total energy = potential energy + kinetic energy
At the highest point of the swing:
kinetic energy is zero and potential energy is maximum
Total energy = 295 + 0 = 295 J

At the lowest point of the swing:
kinetic energy is maximum and potential energy is zero. Total energy is the same, therefore:
295 = 0 + kinetic energy
kinetic energy = 295 J
