There are four more girls than boys in Ms. Raub's class of 28 students. What is the ratio of number of girls to the number of boys in her class?

Respuesta :

Let the number of boys be x

Let the number of girls be x + 4

(x + 4) + x = 28

x + x + 4 = 28

2x + 4 =28

2x = 28 - 4 →  2x = 24  → x = 24 / 2  →  x = 12

The number of boys is 12, so the girls are 12 + 4 = 16

Ratio of girls to boys → 16 : 12 → 4 : 3

Ratio of girls to boys is 4:3
