Jose decided to walk the 9 3/10 mi from his house to the beach. in the first hour he walked 3 4/5 mi. in the second hour he walked 2 9/10 mi. how much farther did he have to go?

8/10 + 9/10 = 1 7/10

3+2+1 7/10 = 6 7/10

9 3/10 - 6 7/10 = 2 6/10

Ok so, first we have to turn these into improper fractions

9 3/10= 93/10
3 4/5= 19/5
2 9/10= 29/10

Ok so 19/5 + 29/10 is 67/10


67/10 - 93/10= 13/5.
