wireframes illustrate elements of a website even though they aren't a polished and finished design, they show how a certain page on a certain website will function in the most effective and efficient way. Wireframes save money, energy, and time when they are created so they can perform usability testing much early on in the developmental process

When a series of wireframes are connected together, they make a storyboard.
You don’t have to use wireframes to create a storyboard, but they are useful to plan where elements will be on each page.
