Answer: Muhammad Ali Jinnah

Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 to 1947, and was also the founder of Pakistan. He was then Pakistan's first Governor-General until his death.

Although at the beginning of his career Jinnah advocated for Hindu-Muslim unity, by 1940 he believed that Indian Muslims should have their own state. The Muslim League passed the Lahore resolution to this effect. Eventually, all leaders agreed to the independence of Hindu India and the Muslim state of Pakistan. Pakistan gained its independence on August 14, 1947.
