Flo Rida says the alleged former assistant who’s taking him to court is just trying to take advantage of his generosity. The rapper’s lawyer, Sandy Becher, tells TMZ that Mahogany Miller was never hired to be Flo Rida’s administrative assistant, explaining that Miller was just an unpaid volunteer. Becher says Miller begged to work for Flo Rida as a way to get started in the music business. Flo Rida decided to let Miller take on an intern-type role, and would occasionally give her money for lunch and gas. Becher adds that Miller wasn’t fired for complaining about her pay, but rather because her “behavior was inappropriate for the workplace environment. Flo Rida says Miller’s lawsuit is “ridiculous,” and he’s upset that he’s “being falsely targeted.”
Mahogany Miller filed a lawsuit against Flo Rida last month claiming that she was paid three dollars and eight cents an hour for a 65-hour work week. Miller says she confronted Flo Rida about her low pay, and was allegedly fired within a day. She’s seeking unspecified damages.
