Jay Z says his daughter Blue Ivy is his number one fan. In an interview with “Vanity Fair,” the hip-hop veteran actually denies Beyoncé’s claim that the 18-month-old prefers his music over hers. He explains that Blue loves her mother’s songs and watches her concerts every night on the computer. Apparently, Blue had never heard Jay’s music until his recent album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” arrived. Jay says he never plays his own tunes around the house, but he did have a family listening session for his latest album.
“I don’t know if Blue ever heard any of my music prior to this album — she’s only 18 months old and I don’t play my music around the house,” Jay Z tells Vanity Fair in its November issue.
He says Blue “loves all the songs” and will ask to hear what she calls a “Daddy song.” Jay remarks that having his daughter’s approval gives him the “greatest joy.”
Jay Z will be featured on the cover of the November issue of “Vanity Fair.”
