Lil Scrappy is a free man … for now … after a fraudulent pee sample led to him being thrown in the slammer, we learned over the weekend. He also is on his grown man check it out!
We have exclusive photos of Scrappy with Mama Dee, and Erica turning himself into ATL authorities yesterday in response to a warrant that had been issued for his arrest. The warrant was issued over an alleged probation violation, stemming from his 2008 pot bust.
Scrappy had been ordered to submit to a urine test in March, but according to authorities, he turned in a sample that was cold to the touch and may have been tampered with. Scrappy was asked to submit another cup, and allegedly refused.
Scrappy told TMZ, the warrant was bogus because he never submitted bad pee in the first place.
Scrappy was released from jail today after a judge granted his lawyer’s motion to recall the warrant. A hearing is set for May 16 to hash out all the issues.
Now in happier news:
Lil Scrappy has released a new video for his new single “Love and Hip Hop” that was produced by Marvelous J, directed by Edgar Esteves and features singer and fellow Grustle Gang label mate, Chinkie Brown.
This video is showing Lil Scrappy in a totally different light than what we’re used to seeing. In the video, Lil Scrappy is getting his grown man on and gives us a classy, old school-cool, Frank Sinatra vibe as he dons a smoker’s jacket and puffs on a cigar in front of a piano.
Since “Love and Hip Hop” samples Billie Holiday’s “I Love You, Porgy” from Porgy and Bess, homage was paid to Ms. Holiday in the video. Chinkie Brown does a great job of channeling Billie Holiday and looks beautiful singing on stage wearing pearls, a glamorous dress and a flower in her hair.

Overall, I give this video two thumbs up. I loved seeing this side of Lil Scrappy, and Chinkie Brown’s homage to Billie Holiday was a nice touch.
Check out the video and let us know what you think.
