Nicki Minaj released new visuals for “Ganja Burns,” the first track off her fourth studio album ‘Queen’. Watch the video, directed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott inside.
The orange hues and regal vibes of the video coincide with the new album’s cover, and at one point Nicki is sporting the same outfit and adorned headdress. She released Queen on Aug. 10 after pushing back the original album date. The project includes features from Lil Wayne, Ariana Grande, Eminem, Labrinth, the Weeknd, Swae Lee, and Future. This August also marks the nine-year anniversary of the rapper signing to Tunechi’s Young Money label.
After dropping the album, Minaj informed fans that she was planning to update the opening track because she felt the levels were too low on the chorus. She also revealed the song was supposed to be titled “Ganja Burn” not “Ganja Burns,” but she messed up when handing in her tracklist. That explains why the music video is dubbed the former.
Just listened to #GangaBurns after a long day & realized that I hate how low I made the hook. Gotta get it swapped out. That’s like my fave song & I can’t let it go out like that?. Plus I was so sleep deprived I wrote burns instead of burn when they were stressing me 4 tracklist
