Usher, Shakira Confirm Return To “The Voice” For Season Six




Usher and Shakira have confirmed that they both will be returning for season six of “The Voice.”

Shakira and Usher made the BIG announcement when they sat down with Oprah on her “Next Chapter” program, which aired Sunday on OWN. Both said that they needed to take a one season break to focus on other parts of their lives, and that former coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green would return in the meantime for season five.


Usher said he’ll be taking time off to play Sugar Ray Leonard in the an upcoming film called “Hands of Stone.”


Shakira told Oprah that she needed to take some time to dedicate to her four-month-old Milan and to finish her album.


Country star Blake Shelton and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine both confirmed on “Next Chapter” that they will be returning as coaches next season as well. “The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesdays on NBC.
