We love when celebrities give back! And that’s exactly what Chance the Rapper is doing. During his press conference Monday afternoon, the Chicago rapper announced that he was donating $1 million to Chicago Public Schools.
He also stated that for every $100,000 raised, Chance’s social work non-profit will match with another $10,000.

The announcement comes days after Chance met with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to discuss funding issues within the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) systems. Chance said of his meeting,
The governor gave me a lot of vague answers in our meeting and since has called me over the weekend. Our talks were unsuccessful. Gov. Rauner still won’t commit to giving Chicago’s kids a chance without caveats or ultimatums.
On Tuesday, Chance says that he will start announcing Chicago public schools that are receiving 10k.
