Kim Burrell’s homophobia got her ejected from an appearance on Ellen this week, and if Frank Ocean’s mom has her way that won’t be the only thing the gospel legend is suddenly removed from this week. Frank’s mom Katonya took to Twitter right after to make one simple request to her son: “Can we crop Kim Burrells [sic] voice out of your song??”

Ocean’s mother went on to call Burrell an “opportunistic” 5-letter curse word disguised by various symbols, a word we can only assume starts with a “B” and ends with an “itch.”

Frank famously came out as bisexual back in 2012, only a week before he released his Grammy award-winning album Channel Orange. Burrell is on “Godspeed,” a track off Ocean’s 2016 album.

The mysterious singer notoriously doesn’t give away to much, so it’s unlikely he says anything publicly and Katonya hasn’t tweeted since she made the request but it’s to late. Whether or not Burrell is removed is a whole other question, but Kim has yet to comment on anything in the days since her rant either on Facebook or Twitter where she is typically an active user. Doubt we’ll hear from Frank on this either, given his long silences. But the message is very clear homophobia isn’t good for your career.

So far, Burrell has been given the boot from appearing on Ellen this Thursday (Dec. 5). The singer was set to appear on the show with Pharrell and Janelle Monaé to perform their track “I See a Victory,” from the Hidden Figures soundtrack. After telling TMZ the singer needs to be shown some love, Tamar Braxton took to social media to slam critics who have “nailed Burrell to the cross” about her comments.

“Here is the thing…While I DO NOT agree on ANY level about what Kim said nor feels …most of ya’ll are nailing her to the cross meanwhile most of ya’ll voted for Trump!,” she said. “PLEASE have several [seats]. Ya’ll ripping her to shreds for what she has been taught in church.”
