Jakadrien, a 14-year-old missing in 2010 has recently been deported to Colombia by mistake.

Reportedly, Jakadrien ran away from home in Dallas, TX after she had experienced stress due to the divorce of her parents and the death of her grandfather.

Her grandmother has been looking for her since the fall of 2010. Mrs. Turner, the grandmother said that once she got home daily she’d stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning to look for her granddaughter on Facebook and everywhere possible.

However, police investigation revealed that the girl was mistakenly deported to Colombia by U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement in April 2011.

But how can a girl without a passport or ID be deported? Investigation revealed that she ran away to Houston where she was arrested for theft. When asked, she gave a fake name to the police. Police looked up  the name and eventually discovered that the name belonged to a 22 year old illegal immigrant from Colombia with several warrants. Remember, Jakadrien was 14 years old.

Now, it’s clear that ICE didn’t do everything required to find a 100% match on the teenage girl before deporting her out of the country.

The Colombian government released her with a work card, according to her grandmother who finally found her on Facebook.  Her grandmother received help from U.S. Embassy officials. However, she is still in a detention center in Colombia and nobody knows when she will be released. Immigration and Custom Enforcement is continuing to investigate this matter.
