Lil Wayne isn’t feeling the love from one New York state senator. Malcolm A. Smith has demanded that the hip-hop star apologize for telling MTV News that he doesn’t like New York City. During a press conference Wednesday afternoon in the Big Apple’s Father Duffy Square, “The New York Times” reports that Smith said he was “angry,” “taken aback” and “shocked” by Weezy’s statement. He added that it’s particularly upsetting because his district of Hollis, Queens, is “essentially the home and the origin of hip-hop.” But Smith says New Yorkers are “forgiving people,” and they’re prepared to forgive Lil Wayne if he decides to make a sincere apology. So far, Wayne has offered no comment on the senator’s demand.
Although Smith was shocked by Lil Wayne’s remarks, those who know the rapper’s history may not have been all that surprised. Wayne was, after all, arrested after his first show in Manhattan back in 2007. He pleaded guilty to a weapons charge, and ultimately spent eight months behind bars on Rikers Island in New York’s East River.
Ok….I don’t like New York either…..are emphasis placed on this because it’s Lil Wayne…..he is entitled to say what he does and don’t like without having to apologize…..Senator, get over it and look into the matter that took place on August 11, 2012 on 47th street when I was there visiting and witnessed a black man walked down by 8 gun drawn officers and yes I must say he did have a 12 inch knife in his hand but when they pepper sprayed him they claimed that he charged toward them with the knife and shot this man in board daylight 7 times…..thats where your attention need to be….so no I don’t like New York either
This senator can go have a seat ay in the back. Lots of people don’t like New York City. Its dirty, overcrowded, overpriced, racist, immoral, and has nothing to offer but knock off fashions and crooked walstreet bankers. I don’t give a crap that NYC has a gazillion restaurants and art gallerys. Big Poo!

@Daisy you are right. Isn’t this the same place where Abner Louima was murdered by cops and that black man murdered on the eve of his wedding? Oh and that dude that was raped by cops with a plunger? New Yorkers are so full of themselves they need medication seriously.
Thank you……..There are alot more things the senator need to be worrying about than what Lil Wayne feel about New York. This is nothing new Mr Senator. Wayne a stated this on many occasions. Can theses politicians focus on so real life issues…. Please.
