I had the opportunity to check out the first episode of WE tv’s newest reality series, “Cutting It: In the ATL” a show all about hairstylists, beauty, and the drama that comes with being a BOSS CHICK. I will be honest I thought this was going to be all about hair, nails, and makeup but let me tell you; “Cutting It: In the ATL” is going to be epic!
Check out the details below.
I had the opportunity to attend WE tv’s private blogger luncheon for their upcoming series “Cutting It: In the ATL” for a small group of press and hair/beauty influencers at TWELVE Hotel Atlantic Station. Cast members Beautii J, Dedra Allen, Mushiya Tshikuka, Maja Sly, and LaKenya Morris answered questions about the new show, which premieres Thursday, May 21 at 10/9c on WE tv. Also in attendance were WE tv executive producers Robyn Schneiders and Kate Farrell along with WE tv executive vice president of original programming, Lauren Gellert.
The first episode was bananas. I tell you these ladies come out the box brining it; only the way ATL can bring it. I was impressed by the first show and can’t wait to see what the lovely ladies have in store.
The cast is comprised of these beautiful boss ladies:
Beautii J known as the “Countess of Class” and she’s the owner of Spoiled Opulence Salon. Overcoming homelessness and being a single mother Beautii has built a company on treating all of her clients like celebrities and making them look like a celebrity too!
Dedra known as the “Commander-In-Chic” is the fierecely opinionated owner of J’Doah Salon she’s all about natural hair care so you won’t find many weaves in her salon. She prides her salon as being the “hidden gem” in the ATL. Dedra hired LaKenya to help incorporate weaves in her salon; but can she handle the drama that LaKenya brings after falling out with a another stylist in the circle?
Mushiya known as the “Natural Boss” is the owner of Atlanta’s highly acclaimed The Damn-Salon. The Damn Salon is the natural hair oasis in the ATL; known for creating epic hair styles stop traffic. Mushiya style and personality are truly one of a kind.
Maja known as the “Minister of Weaves” has changed the game forever in the ATL thanks to her Walk-In Weave Salons. Ladies of all tax brackets can now indulge in the glamour and fabulosity of weaves thanks to Maja. Can Maja deal with the shade from her fellow stylists who don’t appreciate her Walmart prices?
As I watched the first episode; I could not help but think “Man, it’s about to go down!”. So I invite you to save the date Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10 pm following the season premiere of Braxton Family Values to check out the new girls on WE tv’s block.
