Sherri Shepherd will have to continue to pay child support to her ex-husband,Lamar Sally, for a child the former couple had via a surrogate.Shepherd filed an appeal that was denied by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, stating that Shepherd was the child’s legal mother, according to the Associated Press. The former The View host decided to go through with having a baby with her then husband for the sake of their marriage, unfortunately that didn’t save it. The child, whose name is L.J. was conceived by the use of Sally’s sperm and a donor egg , so biologically Shepherd does not have any genetic ties to her son. He was born August of 2014 after the couple broke up.
However, because she agreed to have a child while they were still married her name will remain on the birth certificate. L.J. is currently being raised by his dad, in interview with People he says “I’m glad it’s finally over, I’m glad the judges saw through all the lies that she has put out there….if she won’t be there for L.J emotionally ,mill be patent enough for the both of us.” We wish both parents the best for the sake of the child.
