It appears Eddie Murphy has another clunker on his hands. “The Hollywood Reporter” says Murphy’s widely-panned comedy “A Thousand Words” earned a zero rating on rottentomatoes-dot-com. The website’s editor says the movie joins “Bucky Larson,” “One Missed Call,” “Killing Me Softly,” “Ballistic — Ecks versus Sever” and Roberto Benigni’s version of “Pinocchio” as other films that rated a zero on the “Tomatometer.” “A Thousand Words” was filmed in 2008 but was released to theaters Friday. The movie came in at number six at the weekend box office with sales of six-point-four-million dollars. READ MORE

It looks like a year in prison cost T.I. more than he — and we — thought it would. He recently revealed that he was supposed to be in numerous movies if he wasn’t in prison. He tells Sister 2 Sister magazine:

“I was supposed to be in the film Tower Heist with Ben Stiller. The Eddie Murphymovie. I was supposed to be in that. And I wasn’t able, obviously, to be there. G.I. Joe II (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), they called me for that. READ MORE

Eddie Murphy Steps Down From Hosting The Academy Awards

Actor Eddie Murphy has stepped down as the host for the Academy Hosts. While there is no clear reason as to why he has released a statement saying,

First and foremost I want to say that I completely understand and support each party’s decision with regard to a change of producers for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. I was truly looking forward to being a part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I’m sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job.

Comcast is giving its customers the pleasure of watching brand new movies at home in their own comfort zone.  The first movie they are testing comes from Universal Pictures and is a comedy starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller entitled, “Tower Heist” which is set for theatres November 4th.


Eddie Murphy To Host The 2012 Oscars?

Rumor has it that actor and funny man Eddie Murphy might be the host for the 84th Oscar Awards show. It hasn’t been confirmed yet but sources say that he showing interest. His agency think that it would be a great idea for him to host to jump start his career again. Eddie Murphy will star in two upcoming movies. One titled Tower Heist which is scheduled to release November 4th and star Ben Stiller as well. READ MORE

The Heist, a movie about a ragtag cleaning and service staff that work in an expensive Manhattan apartment building who take to robbing one of the wealthy residents who has defrauded them through a ponzi scheme. Ben Stiller, the manager, asks his childhood friend, Eddie Murphy, a full-time crook, for his help in the situation. From the trailer, the movie will be nothing but laughs, with Gabourey Sidibe (from Precious) playing a supporting role as maid.
